Dora The Explorer: Scammed

Now you can put a name to the face. Well, the old name. Here is the second voice behind the multi-million dollar Dora the Explorer name! That was until little Caitlin Sanchez of New Jersey, outgrew the role! According to news sources, Caitlin is now suing Nickelodeon for basically making her slave over Dora for the last few years.

The battle came about after Caitlin's voice changed with her age. The same situation that the original Dora found herself in. Now we could all imagine how much money is involved with Dora the Explorer as she is everywhere. Every child I know watches Dora and tries to speak the Spanish language accordingly! The little girl who made that all possible was only receiving $40 per diem to travel around the world promoting the show/brand. $40 per diem!!!! Does Nickelodeon realize we're in a recession. I make $40 selling loosies at the bus stop! SMH! Did I mention her travel and hotel expenses weren't even paid for?

In a very detailed, 41 page complaint, Sanchez, now 14,  noted how she's worked over 100 promotional events, without proper pay. To top it all off, she's not even making residuals! Where were her parents when she signed that deal?!!?? It's bad enough that taxpayers get scammed out of their hard earned money, now it's happening to little kids too?

What are we teaching these kids? To make a name for themselves and not get paid for it? I really hope this little girl gets the money she is without a doubt entitled to. If they've done it before her, they will continue to do it after her. A children's network. Damn, is anyone safe?
