Ground Zero Mosque Open To All?

I wasn't going to bring religion or politics onto this blog but with all the hype in the media, I have to. This is something that needs to be discussed thoroughly before any solid plans are made. I'm not gonna lie, the thought of putting a mosque anywhere near Ground Zero sickens me. After everything that happened, all the lives that were lost that day, and the lives that are gradually being taken to this day, from the diseases that were transmitted from cleaning up that day, you have the audacity to put a mosque there?

Like every other aspect of prejudice, I know we can't judge an entire culture by the actions of just a portion of the culture. BUT, terrorism is no joke! Those people who attacked us that day, lived right next door to us, worked right beside us; plotting on us the entire time. So let's build them a "spy zone" to make their spy operation easier! Are you serious? I swear if it wasn't an assault charge, I would really go on a slap-a-politician spree just to knock some sense into them!

While reading the paper the other day though, I came across an article about the mosque that I actually agree is a great idea. Elie Wiesel, a Nobel Laureate, suggested to make the mosque open to ALL religions. The blueprint is damn sure big enough to accomplish his idea. Why not? After everything we've been through as a country, why not unite in prayer? We're all praying for the same thing, we just have different beliefs. As people, we are all entitled to the right to freedom of religion, despite who we pray to. I think having one unified place that everyone could go, no matter what religion they practice, is priceless. It would, in a far fetched way, give people the opportunity to explore different religions just by visiting a different room or floor. Do you understand what an impact that could have?

I'm not saying it will open up the floor for religious conversion, but it would present a huge opportunity for us to understand the different religions instead of just being ignorant to any religion that isn't our own. What better place to have an establishment like this, then the City, the ultimate Melting Pot of NY!?!? This idea came from a man whose "foundation was robbed of $35 million by Bernard Madoff..."; robbed and still trying to unite! That is the true definition of faith. Even after he was a victim, he hasn't lost his faith in people! This is without a doubt the type of person we need. Someone who is not going to focus on the negative that's already happened, but someone who will take the negatives into consideration to develop a game plan on what we need to make sure history does not repeat itself!

Let's face it, the world gets more and more fucked up everyday. Ever ask yourself why? Because people stop believing in people and more importantly, they stop believing in themselves! The mind is a very powerful thing, if you think the worst, the worst is sure to happen. I learned that from watching The Secret. The universe hears everything you dish out to it; even when no one is around to witness. And I think it's very amusing that half the people who are against the idea of a unified place of worship, don't even go to church or to temple, or anywhere. They don't even pray at home. So who are you to have any say in where or how other people show their faith?

Yup, once again ... Jo Jo Said It... deal with it. You don't like what I'm saying, leave a comment!
