Abusing Social Networks

Whether it be Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, or whichever social network you use, there are too many people abusing it. Yes, these sites are more or less for entertainment purposes, but that's not the only reason. Here's some of the bullshit people do on these sites that makes me want to hack into their computers and delete their accounts!

1. Stealing pictures and making fake profiles. Are you serious? I understand that there are more ugly people in the world than there are pretty people. But I think it's pretty safe to say that if you're ugly, you've been this way you're entire life. By now you should be used to it. Not stealing people's pictures to make fake profiles just to get pretty people to talk to you! What is the point of that? It's not like you can ever go meet them. You've already lied to them. Pointless and highly annoying.

2. Posting Dumb Shit. Yes, we all, at times, post something stupid. Whether it be what we're eating, a quote from a movie no one has ever seen or just a little side note that popped into our head. This is what these sites are for, to voice what's on our mind. But there is no need to give everyone a play by play of your day when your day doesn't consist of shit! No one cares about every meal you eat, when you are in the shower, or the bathroom or how bored you are in class! Wait til you have something interesting to say, then post!

3. Claiming lines that are not your own. Why do people post shit that other people have said and don't give them credit? Seriously, you make yourself look stupid. Somewhere in the world, there is someone looking at their screen on some "he didn't say that" type shit and laughing at you. It takes two seconds to give someone credit. If you are one of these people, mainly Twitter users, do not get mad when you get roasted by multiple people!

4. Computer Thugs. Everyone knows what a computer thug is. I'm not even gonna waste my time explaining how fucking ignorant you make yourself look by doing this! Just know that eventually this will catch up with you and you will get ya ass whooped for talking shit on a computer then proceeding to act like nothing is wrong when you get caught out there in person!

5. The Network Boo. Now this, is a toss up. A very fine line must be drawn here. We all have someone or certain people that we have never met but talk to on the regular on these sites. We'll use Twitter as an example. I, myself, have a few "Twitter Boo's", BUT they are just that. No one has my number for personal use, no one calls or texts me, just to shoot the breeze. If you're thinking about me and want me to know, email me. Some of these people think just because we are in a different state that we can just jones on the phone like that. And the point of that would be what? To get to know someone that lives halfway around the world that you never had any intentions of meeting in person? How's ya life?

Social networking sites are for keeping in touch with people and networking with people you don't know. It's a great business and marketing tool, one of the best ways to kill some time or get a good laugh in. But some people are taking this shit way too seriously. We all need to realize that just because we may see these sites as entertainment, not everyone we are talking to sees it the same way. There are some people on these sites solely to find their "soul mate." Everything you say to them, in their eyes, is written in stone.  You leave them a comment on their pics and they get gassed. You leave an "I miss you" comment and they leave their phone number on your page. I love when I go to someones page and see a comment left by someone I know is just a "site friend" and see them leaving comments like "where have you been, I miss you," or "why haven't you called me?" Why? Because I don't even fucking know you!!!!! It's like Drake said, "I'm shutting shit down at the mall, And telling every girl she the one for me, And I ain't even planning to call ..." Take the hint!
